Come Earth

Come Wind, Come Fire
Come sexy headdresses, feathers & fringe..
Not that I'd say this has been noticeably prevalent on any runway for spring or summer 2011, but I'm dubbing it my own, personal trend for the season(s). I have never really changed my whole wardrobe based on the trends, like most people, I buy mostly staples and add-in current items to keep 'trendy.' As always, I usually do my own thing anyway - it's never good to be cookie-cutter, or look like you've fallen out of a magazine. But, hey, if you have the dough for it, more power to ya! I am seeing fringe everywhere! (I was a bit shocked to see Minnetonka Moccs. in Express ads)- native american or the tribal influence is one of those trends that will never die - at least in my closet.

Cheesy Spinach Lasagna

NUMmmm.
I found this recipe at one of my favorite vegetarian blogs. This woman is pretty much amazing - there are soo many more that I would LOVE to give a whirl. Last night, as always, I was craving italian. Let me tell you, this was muchhh better than OG, people! Try it tonight!
1 package of Barilla no-boil lasagna
6 cups of tomato sauce

4-6 cups of fresh baby spinach (or one package)
3 cups of Ricotta cheese (I subbed 2 c. ricotta for cottage cheese).
1 egg
3 tb of Pecorino Romano cheese divided
4 cups of shredded mozzarella divided
Salt and Pepper to taste

1. Pre-heat the oven to 400
2. Mix ricotta, 1 tb of Pecorino Romano, 2 tsp of salt and pepper, and 1 raw egg together. Stir.
3. Spread tomato sauce on the bottom of the pan. Next, layer the pasta shells on top of the sauce, try and cover the bottom of the pan. Add ricotta mixture and spread with a spatula. Place baby spinach leafs on top, then lay mozzarella on top. Then more sauce. The next layer will be a repeat of the first, but without the spinach
4. After the second layer, add the final shells on top, plus more sauce and the rest of the Pecorino Romano. Salt and Pepper.
5. Bake uncovered for 30 minutes, then add a foil cover for the final 30 minutes.
6. Let cool - pair it with a salad and some garlic bread. Mmmm. Enjoy!

Bad Buzz Job.

Lucky for me, the 'storm' has just passed - seeing as though this occurrence took place LAST Sunday, I feel that I am now safe to share the story. Hockey season ended a couple of weekends ago, sniff sniff - I really am going to miss it. With that, grew in some long-ass, shaggy hair. So, when The Boy asked me to buzz his head, I was more than willing. After retrieving the hand-me-down clippers from my mom, she warned me to do a couple of strand tests to see if they are even strong enough to get through his mane. Finally, at 12:30am, we were ready to do work - newspaper lining the bathtub and all. Clippers to nape of the neck - we're going, going, looks goooood..SHIT! Unfortunately, after the strand test I completely forgot to put the guard back on. With big eyes, Jon turns around - "WHAT'D YOU DO?!" What can you do in that situation? - I laughed. He tried not to laugh. Pretended to be mad for 5 minutes. And, eventually, laughed. Needless to say, the long hair will be here to stay for at least another week or two. Joke's on me, right? FML.
