Sustainable Sex.

Are YOU a green sex machine?
Building off of my post below - during their presentation, Mary and Vickie shared this fun, eco-friendly website with us. After meandering around the site, I found some fun quizzes - and one about, yours truly, S-E-X. To test your knowledge, click here. Who knew one could go green WHILE doing the deed. Clever in so many ways..

Panoramix Global

"Consumer trend pioneers take it to the next beat."
I recently paid a visit to Club Entrepreneur to hear the co-founders of Panoramix Global (also founders of Iconoculture), Mary Meehan and Vickie Abrahamson present, World in Motion: Global Trends Shifting your Business. Needless to say, these are two, extremely knowledgable and highly respected women in the industry. I had been looking forward to it since the day I heard about it, so it's not at all suprising that I was just mesmerized by the duo. You KNOW I ignored my $30 plate of lovely fixins' and took diligent notes. Although it's safe to say that their whole presentation could be considered a highlight - I forced myself to pick a few..
Global Trends
Age
Values include: responsibility, legacy, happiness.
Every month, 800,000 people turn 65.

2.5 billion people live without a toilet.

More people have access to a cellphone than a toilet.

Ethnicities
There are close to 1/4 muslims in the world.
50% of them are under the age of 25.
Employment
Jobs/industries that are prevailing through a tough economy:
1] Nursing

3] Customer Service
4] Fast Food
The best part about the experience - I was able to shake their hands, look them in the eyes and sincerely thank them for being inspirations of mine. And, of course, exchange business cards..

Another year older...

another year....?
You know you're getting older when you feel like it's (financially) a good idea to work on your birthday. As I was screening an older woman today, she quickly mentioned that she couldn't talk long - she had quite a long list of errands to do, including a visit to the salon. As she stood with a purse in her hand and a foot out the door, I assured her that I would only need a few minutes of her time. When I got to the age question, she proudly stated with her strong, southern accent, "I'm comin' up on 81." After explaining to her that I would need to call her back to schedule an appointment, she briskly-yet-sweetly boasted, "If you can catch me!" Tonight, I'm going to make a toast. To myself. Here's to another 60+ years, lady. Make'em count.

No place like. . .

home.
Our flight landed in good, old Minnie-sowwwt-aaaa (we got that a lot when we were in Hawaii) - at about 6:30am yesterday. It was 85 degrees when we left and we spent our last hours on the beach, getting our last tans - at approximately 8am. Sick, huh? It was a dreadful, intense -17 degrees as we froze in our suburban, which barely started, after sitting outside at the Park-n-Go for the past week. That is a 102 degree difference, people. Sicker, huh!!? I am already going through UV withdrawls. On the other hand, I am happy to be home - not to the bitter cold, but to my own bed, family, regular routine, friends, work/income and my favorite boy. I had such a great time and took a ton of pictures - which is sooo unlike me (note the sarcasm), so I will be sharing some stories about my trip in the accompanying posts. Enjoy... :)

VACAY time.

I have to apologize to my readers. . .
do I have readers?
If not, that's cool too. Unfortunately, my head has been in Hawaii for the past week (I'm sure my boss could second that) - FORTUNATELY, however, my head AND body will be there TOMORROW! Eeeek! Until then, you'll have to forgive me for being ohso uberly unreligious with my blog postings. uhhhhhhhhh, check the picture - can ya blame me? I have sooo much to tell you all/nobody?/whoever. :) I have pledged to myself that I will do NO blogging during this trip zipzilchnada - Hawaii is far too amazing to have my head anywhere but the present...or in a computer screen.
See you in a week lovelies.

Thursday...

Might be considered the new Friday...
Well, at least in January's case.
Thursday, January 6th - I'll be attending the event, Club Entreprenuer (where the co-founders of Panoramix Global will be speaking) at Minneapolis Club, downtown. I will, most likely, be enthralled with whatever comes out of their mouths, the entire time.
Thursday, January 13th - I will be on an airplane (probably scared shitless, since it will be my first time - vodka will help) - making my way to beautiful, south Maui. I may not actually believe it until I'm on that plane, however. The picture below was taken 5 mins. away from where I will be staying - Kamaole Beach. Eeeeek! Better get packing!
Thursday, January 27th - I turn the BIG 2-2. Yes, what the hell?! I'm getting old. I know. I have looked forward to EVERY single birthday up to this point. What can I say, I want to be forever young. Thanks Jay-Z.
I'm sure each and every one will be great - in their own way - of course.
