Panoramix Global

"Consumer trend pioneers take it to the next beat."
I recently paid a visit to Club Entrepreneur to hear the co-founders of Panoramix Global (also founders of Iconoculture), Mary Meehan and Vickie Abrahamson present, World in Motion: Global Trends Shifting your Business. Needless to say, these are two, extremely knowledgable and highly respected women in the industry. I had been looking forward to it since the day I heard about it, so it's not at all suprising that I was just mesmerized by the duo. You KNOW I ignored my $30 plate of lovely fixins' and took diligent notes. Although it's safe to say that their whole presentation could be considered a highlight - I forced myself to pick a few..
Global Trends
Age
Values include: responsibility, legacy, happiness.
Every month, 800,000 people turn 65.
In 2009, grandparents spent a whopping $52 billion on their grandchildren.
Water
1/8 people in the world do not have access to safe water.
2.5 billion people live without a toilet.
By 2025, 1.8 million people will live where water is scarce.
The Connected Consumer
Mobile phones, internet, TV are accessible to 75% of the world.
More people have access to a cellphone than a toilet.
Women
Women control $20 trillion of the world’s consumer spending, and that figure could reach $28 trillion in the next five years. -Boston Consulting Group, 2009
Ethnicities
There are close to 1/4 muslims in the world.
50% of them are under the age of 25.
Employment
Jobs/industries that are prevailing through a tough economy:
1] Nursing
2] Home Health Services
3] Customer Service
4] Fast Food
The best part about the experience - I was able to shake their hands, look them in the eyes and sincerely thank them for being inspirations of mine. And, of course, exchange business cards..
